Once and Again is an American television series that initially aired on ABC from 1999 to 2002. It depicts the family of a single mother and her romance with a single father.
Jessie and Katie's relationship was an unexpected romance that turned into a beautiful first love story between two girls who found they understood each other as no one else did. The chemistry between Evan Rachel Wood and Mischa Barton was magical and turned the pairing into what remains one of the show's most popular pairings, long after it ended in its third season.
Unfortunately, the series went back to its usual lackluster ratings for the next few episodes, putting the final nail in the coffin for the show, which has been canceled by ABC. The relationship between the two girls took a backseat to other storylines in the next few episodes, and since they unexpectedly turned out to be the last of the series, the Jessie/Katie storyline could not be pursued further as originally planned.
