Nina leaves her family home in Glasgow and heads to the bright lights of London to escape an arranged marriage. As the head of a middle class family, her father runs a highly successful restaurant and has an otherwise stable marriage and family
Before any reconciliation could be made between Nina and her dad, he suddenly dies precipitating her return to Glasgow. With the death of the patriarch, the business comes under threat and it is up to Nina to try and save the family business. Also, she wants to fulfill her fathers dream of winning the local restaurant contest and sets about doing this. All however is not as straight forward as it seems. Nina is yet to come out to her family which in itself is not a problem if she had not fallen for her business partner, Lisa.Throw into the mix a secret marriage, her mothers own deep secrets, a drag queen and a family whose culture demands 'respectability'.
Εξαιτίας του ξαφνικού θανάτου του πατέρα της, η Νίνα επιστρέφει στη γενέτειρα πόλη της, για να αναλάβει τη διοίκηση του ινδικού εστιατορίου της οικογένειας. Σύντομα θα επανενωθεί με τον παιδικό της φίλο Μπόμπι, που ονειρεύεται να γίνει σταρ του Μπόλιγουντ και θα γνωρίσει τη νέα συνιδιοκτήτρια του εστιατορίου, μια όμορφη νεαρή κοπέλα, τη Λίζα. Όταν θα ανακαλύψει πως το εστιατόριο είναι υποψήφιο στο διαγωνισμό του Καλύτερου Ινδικού Εστιατορίου της πόλης, η Νίνα θα ζητήσει τη βοήθεια της Λίζα για να κερδίσουν το έπαθλο. Τα προβλήματα θα ξεκινήσουν όταν η Νίνα αρχίζει να ερωτεύεται τη Λίζα...
