This is quite an ordinary, slow moving comedy about unhappy couples who cheat on one another. Jerry is a drama professor living with Terri, an advertising writer whom Jerry's friends think is too unfeminine. His friend Barry is also having trouble with his wife Mary. Jerry and Mary begin having an affair. At the same time, Terri meets Cheri, and the two women start a relationship together.
