Official Comic Anthology for Akaiito that came with the limited edition version of the PS2 game. “Akai Ito Anthology” comes from a text adventure game. This game is classified as a "traditional Japanese horror." True to its stated genre, it occasionally depicts violence and death in what some may consider "graphic detail," particularly since it is written in first person. It is also, for lack of a better word, a distinctly Japanese game, with numerous references to Shintou and other religions, and uses extensive Japanese wordplay. However, most who play it would hardly consider it a horror game. Most fans of Akai Ito love it because it is a (very) well written choose-your-own-adventure-style story, with a lovable lesbian main character who develops a relationship with one of five other lovable women, depending upon how you play.

Βιολόγος ερευνητής, καθηγητής εντομολογίας στο Indiana University (usa), θεωρείται ο ιδρυτής της σεξολογίας, της επιστήμης που μελετά την ανθρώπινη ερωτική συμπεριφορά.

Το 1947 ίδρυσε στο πανεπιστήμιό του το Ιστιντούτο σεξουαλικής έρευνας (σημερινό "Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction") για τη μελέτη της ανθρώπινης σεξουαλικότητας.

'Εκανε εκτεταμένες επιστημονικές έρευνες στο θέμα, και δημοσίευσε τις διάσημες αναφορές του (the Kinsey Reports) για τη σεξουαλικότητα γυναικών και ανδρών.

Ο Kinsey τόλμησε να δοκιμάσει τα όρια της ακαδημαϊκής ελευθερίας της έρευνας, ενάντια στα σκαταδιστικά αιτήματα όσων θέλουν να την περιορίζουν με κριτήρια που αποκαλούν "ηθικά". Η δουλειά του είχε σαν αποτέλεσμα μια έκρηξη γνώσης για θέματα που παλαιότερα θεωρούνταν ταμπού.

Η έρευνα του Alfred C. Kinsey ξεκίνησε την δεκαετία του 30 και συνεχίστηκε μέχρι την δεκαετία του 50. Σύμφωνα με το πόρισμα της έρευνας, που έγινε σε άντρες ομοφυλόφιλους, ο άνθρωπος μπορεί πολύ συχνά να εμφανίσει ομοφυλοφιλική συμπεριφορά. Εξ άλλου πρόσφατες έρευνες αποδεικνύουν πως μια συγκεκριμένη μερίδα του πληθυσμού έχει αποκλειστικά λεσβιακές ή ομοφυλοφιλικές επαφές χωρίς να θεωρείται «μη φυσιολογική». Ένα άλλο ενδιαφέρον στοιχείο είναι πως αν πριν από μερικές εκατοντάδες χρόνια χρησιμοποιούσες το αριστερό σου χέρι ήσουν ή μάγισσα ή διεστραμμένο άτομο. Κάτι που σήμερα μας φαίνεται απίστευτο. Επομένως, μια κουλτούρα που δέχεται σαν φυσιολογική την ετεροφυλοφιλική συμπεριφορά, καθορίζοντας την συμπεριφορά αυτή με αυστηρούς κανόνες που διέπουν το βιολογικό φύλο, κάθε άλλο παρά υγιής πρέπει να θεωρείται.

A Love to Keep 2006 - (Drama, Spain, 98 min)

Based on a true story, A Love to Keep begins in fascist Spain in the early 1970's. this epic story looks back on a darker time in Sapphic history when family, science and the state all conspired against two women in love.

"A Love To Keep" tells the story of Pilar and Elvira, two teachers in Spain during the waning years of the Franco era. They meet and become friends, and before long the two fall deeply in love. When Pilar’s family finds out, they have her committed to an asylum. Enduring painful years of electroshock therapy, behavioural conditioning, and isolation, she remains devoted to Elvira. Upon Pilar’s release, the two find each other again. But the memories of Pilar’s ordeal will not quickly fade, and the scars again test their bond.

Shortland Street: Jay and Maia

New Zealand's longest running daytime serial (debuted in 1992), recently celebrated its 4000th episode in the year 2008. The series has brought many firsts to the air including the much acclaimed Valentine's day civil union ceremony between Jay and Maia. The soap continues to have great popularity and shows no sign of ending its run..

Jay and Maia had already established a relationship when the viewers first came to know of them. In Australia, Jay had lived very publicly as a gay woman, while Maia had been more shy to reveal that side of her, but in their new surroundings, with Jay's whanau (extended family) about, the situation was quite the opposite. Nonetheless, their lives in New Zealand would see the woman achieve many firsts, such as a civil union and issues surrounding the formation of a family. This couple has gathered a rather huge following over the years and is one of the most beloved couples down under. Surely, their love story will remain one of the greatest romances of our time.

Kick: Layla & Jackie

Kick debuted on Australia's SBS TV in the summer of 2007 and 13 episodes have been aired thus far. The series centers around the lives of several families from different cultural backgrounds who live on fictitious Hope Street. With humour and sensitivity, the audience has been introduced the characters' ambitions, their challenges, their loves and the way they live and get along with each other. Just out of its first season, Kick has already acquired quite a following, and at last report, it seems that a second season may already be in the works.


Layla and Jackie shared a passion for fencing and met when they revealed themselves to each other after a practice match at their university. Jackie was immediately attracted to this stranger and was sure that the feeling was mutual, but Layla only knew that she wanted to reach out and touch the woman without truly understanding whatever for. She was engaged to be married, and having amorous feelings for a woman certainly was not a part of the plan, but the attraction felt good and welcomed and she knew she would explore more. These were the beginnings of Kayla and Jackie's romance in the first season of the new series Kick. It is a romance that grew on Hope Street, one that encounters many road blocks, but is nonetheless destined to go down on record as being one of the greatest on-screen romances of our time.
